A song from a band you hate

Hahhaha. Ok.

This one is for ALL the ridiculous guitar/emo/rock/whatever/bands that are out there (Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, The Used, 30 Seconds to Mars etc etc etc). I DON'T EVEN. GO AWAY. I can't stand you.

Yeah ok, day 10.

I wish this thing was over already.

Day 10 - A song that makes you fall asleep

OK, so I don't necessarily fall to sleep to songs. I mean, otherwise I wouldn't listen to the song, if it was that boring that it made me fall to sleep. I'm also not one of those people who listens to music before they sleep. Like, I'd have to wake up again to turn off the radio. It doesn't make sense. Richard, however, has music on his phone, and he plays a playlist for 30 minutes and then the phone automatically stops. I know this, because I'm always awake by the end of the playlist.

See what I mean?

OK, so here's one of the songs I always hear when Richard is sleeping. He always puts on the same playlist, so consequently, I hear a small selection of songs almost daily.

Also, I realize this is not a song one normally falls asleep to. I mean, I don't. They're so loud!

ETA; what's with that video, by the way. Saving Private Ryan clips, I see Great War trenches, that Civil War tune whistling at the beginning, and a citation from Cool Hand Luke? Yeah.

Day numero 9, it's been a little while since my last entry. I guess I had stuff to do. Like going to France and cleanin' refridgiratorz 'n shit.

Day 09 - A song that you can dance to

OK, so, I don't necessarily dance. When I'm out, I dance to whatever is playing. I'm not the dancing type, so I'll just put a youtube video on here of a song I recently sort of "rediscovered", realized it was awesome all over again.

I suppose I could dance to this as well. Actually, I'm fairly certain.

What I think is the best part about this whole song, is that these guys were probably sitting in the studio, and wrote two seperate songs, which were both cool, but too short. So they were probably like, "oh, let's just put them together even though it doesn't make sense." Awesome.

The video makes me lolz.

Ahhh so much fun, today the 40,000 people walking the International Nijmeegse Four Days Marches are passing through my street. It's only day 2, so the party is only halfway! I've seen American soldiers, semi-awesome British Bobbies, lots of veterans, and especially respect to those ex-mariners, they're like 60 or 70, and they participate in the 4 Days Marches every year. Really, it's great fun, I can watch the whole thing from my living room.

Oh man, I am really disappointed. I suppose Spain deserved it though, although I disagree when people say they were the better team. The English ref was just totally against us, all thoughout the 120 minutes. I dont understand, I thought we were allies? (Dude, World War II and all that shit?! Where's the love?)

This was the first time though, that I actually really, fully experienced a World Cup event. I guess I'm at the age that I start to care, and I'll actually be old enough to remember most of it. 2010 goes down in history as a great year for Dutch football and I'll be able to say I was there (well, I wasn't there there, but I was there. You know, lol).

Here's a picture of the Market Square in Eindhoven, the city I grew up in, where we watched the game. Unbelievable, right? Let's do it again in 2012!

30 days of music - day 6: A song that reminds of you of somewhere
I've been having a hard time coming up with a song for day 6. I suppose that maybe I don't easily connect songs to places. Anyway, when I was...13... I think, I bought The Science of Things, that 1999 record by Bush, with 'The Chemicals Between Us,' etc. The album was in my DiscMan, and my alarm clock, which had a CD option, basically 24/7 for over a year. So, I woke up with the opening track for over a year. It sort of reminds me of home, and teenage years, when I thought Bush was an awesome band. It's ridiculous, but oh, long lost childhood, where have you gone?

Man, it's so nice and sunny out there. Usually that means I'm inside, at least, when I have nothing planned. I have to work tonight, which means I have the entire day off today, which is nice, if I had something to do. I could go outside, but what's there to do? I wanted to buy inline skates, but they're quite expensive. But I figure that once I get them, I could go outside more often on days like this when I have no appointments or important things to do during the day. Nature's almost literally in my back yard (I should take picture on one of my future skating-trips), so I'm not sure what's holding me back. I might go get them today, actually.

By the way, I'm on Twitter.

Day 4 of 30 days of music A song that makes you sad
So yesterday I wrote about a song that makes me happy; there's lots. Songs that make me sad, well, I'd have to think back to angsty teen periods when I could cry to every Counting Crows song (at least, the sad ones). I was very depressed (in the teenage kind of way) when I was about 14/15, oh my. But no longer do these songs make me sad. I suppose, since I'm mostly happy these days, songs don't really make me sad anymore. At least, not in the way that you listen to songs and feel like all the lyrics apply to your life.

on to the sad songCollapse )

Watching the Dutch world cup game in a bar + beers is not a very good idea if you have to work afterwards. Just so you know. Never drink before work. But I guess it was allowed just this one time. And I was alright after a sweet plate of greasy cheese pasta.

My Grote Beesie was having a lot of fun, too:Collapse )

And here's day 3 of 30 days of music, A song that makes you happy
I know Top Gear has adopted this song for their intro, buuuut, whatever, you know. It's seven minutes of pure joy to my ears, even without any lyrics. Jessica is an amazing musical composition that makes me happy whenever I hear it. Allman Brothers Band are/were cursed, right? Aren't they like, all dead?
